Today was our 8 week ultrasound appointment and the day to graduation from the fertility clinic! While driving to the clinic I realized it was exactly 8 months from our initial consult with female Dr. M that started this process. Now here I am 8 weeks pregnant.

Today was another transvaginal ultrasound. Unfortunately, the imaging was not great today nor could we audibly hear a heartbeat. Dr. M confirmed the heartbeat is still there and stronger than last week at 171 bpm. Little lovebug is measuring two days behind currently which Dr. M was not concerned about. Apparently this can happen in early pregnancy as imaging may not be the best.

Dr. M was great and moved me to another room with a different ultrasound to try and get better pictures and hear the heartbeat. The quality was a little better and I could see a tiny flicker of a beat. Overall, she stated we are on track and things are still looking good. Dr. M noted my bladder may be too full or little lovebug is just super comfy in tucked up in my uterus. My due date is remains the same.

I was given a little goodie bag for graduating. Now we get to start tapering medications! Of course, hearing that our little lovebug is a little behind worries me. However knowing the heartbeat got stronger is still a positive sign. I am trying to remain positive. Every pregnancy is different. Just behind lovebug is behind right now doesn’t mean they will not continue to grow strong and healthy.
