Today I went for an SIS to make sure my uterus is in an optimal condition to prep for a transfer. I was a nervous, anxious mess but B was there to help keep me calm. My friend Nikki was also helping crack jokes and take my mind off the procedure via text.

They were a little behind schedule which just heightened my anxiety. I saw NP Brooke. Sweet as always. She explained the procedure the best she could. The procedure was mildly uncomfortable but tolerable. I would definitely say worse than a Pap smear but not by much. It’s the surprise cramping that got me even though I was informed it would be happening. I needed to be reminded to breathe, just like I do with injections. B held my hand and comforted me. I would say in total it was less than 15 minutes and very minor bleeding.

I was told my uterine cavity looks good to go which is exactly what we were hoping for. The cramping only stayed around for about 4 hours though I did take ibuprofen as suggested before the procedure.

As my reward we went to Sushi Train for lunch as I know I’ll have to start changing my diet with pregnancy in mind. They advise to eat as if you are already pregnant.

I messaged my nurse in the portal to let her know everything looked good and we are ready to move forward. I got a call later that evening from nurse Chelsea to check in. I told her I was doing fine and all my medication for FET had arrived. I reviewed dosing with the Leuprolide as the syringes and unit of measure were different than previously. I noted I am nervous for PIO injections though I know we’re not there yet. Chelsea noted on our last visit before PIO to bring my auto injector and they provide a skin marker to draw the injection sites.

Overall, it wasn’t a terrible experience and I did appreciate the check in. Now to continue with FET prep.
