This morning at 11:20am we got the call from the clinic with our fertilization report. The four eggs retrieved yesterday were all mature. Out of the seven eggs that were frozen only four survived the thaw. Eight eggs were fertilized via ICSI and five embryos are what we have today.

We should expect a call on Wednesday to see how many make it to day five/ blastocysts. From there which ever made it will be biopsied and sent out for PGT-A testing.

It is estimated only 30-50% fertilized typically make it to blast, so we are expecting two to make it. Then we need to be hopeful that they come back genetically healthy. IVF isn’t for the weak. This is truly the game of numbers and survival of the fittest.
