Next steps are here. With B’s procedure scheduled for next week now time to start focusing on my cycle. The doctor noted I will likely have to do three cycles to get enough eggs. Since only 4-5 follicles were noted at my first ultrasound we can assume only 4-6 follicles would be present any given month at this time. Ideally, they like to retrieve 14-16 eggs as only half typically end up being mature so 7-8. Out of that potential 7-8 you can hope 4-6 remain healthy and have no anomalies.

Thankfully, we were informed we can do retrievals back to back each cycle as long as my body handles it. Of course that changes the financials but as long as insurance can continue to assist through this process this year and we don’t max the annual benefit I think it will remain somewhat financially feasible. This doesn’t account for medication or supplies but hopefully with an insurance pre-authorization medication expenses will remain relatively low. I’m expecting if insurance keeps assisting this will cost roughly $10k to make it to 8-10 weeks pregnant according to this current plan.

The positive, aside from this sounding good and feasible, is that my A1c was fantastic for my age according to the doctor and all my PCOS labs came back fine. Definitely interested to see when we’ll hear from the clinic again leading up to starting medication.
